Genius idea if costly for controlling rats and mice

I encourage everyone to beef up their coops and runs with galvanized steel hardware cloth if you're going to be raising chickens for years. The peace of mind it brings is priceless.(its also cheaper than automatic feeders and other methods of getting rid of rats)
I get that, but they eat other things.

My new coop is going to be nothing BUT wire and metal LOL.

But I imagine that rats and mice will still come around. This just seems like either overkill or a gimmick.

I could see how it could do really well, but it seems unnecessarily complicated. Idk.

I spent my money on hardware cloth instead of building materials so I could afford to make it predator proof.I made my coop out of pallets

LOL. I'm splurging a LOT and going full 16 OC studs. My excuse is that I need a coop and a shed, and I may as well build the whole thing right. So I get an 8x12 building with chickens and a shed in it.

I actually love this but I would not buy a $300 vacuum to use it. Interesting anyway. I would put a little shot of dish soap in the water, the victims would drown more quickly.

I wouldn't mind having one of these .You glue some chicken feed to the board with honey, etc. The swivel in the middle of the board causes rats to slide off when it tilts. Then it levels out and closes off the top so they can't get out

I'll gladly make my apron wider so I wouldn't ever have to trap or poison them.I hate killing anything
