Hey everyone. My name is Holly Hakala and I live in Lyons Ga. About _100 miles from Savannah Ga. I am married have 3 grown sons, and 5 grands. I am in the last stages of renal disease. But I dream of having chickens and ducks in my backyard and a kidney transplant. So until I get there I will read and study everything about them. And enjoy all your pics of your animals and enjoy meeting you.

Welcome from Middle Georgia! So glad you have joined us.

Sorry about your renal disease and hope you can get a transplant.

Raising your own flock is a fun and fulfilling experience and I do hope it works out for you to get yours. But, I think you should discuss this with your physicians before making the plunge. There will likely be special precautions you will need to take in many facets of your life once you have had the transplant and are on immune suppressing medications.

Feel free to ask questions, we're here to help.

Good luck with all.

Welcome holly! I think you will find chickens to be a great distraction from some of the stress you have in your life. They are great for reminding us to enjoy the simple things such as the sun on our face and the delicacies of a juicy bug.
