I need some help guys, I was planning on getting chickens this summer and for various reasons I’m waiting till next spring. Right now I have 18 wildtype quail and really was interested in getting some other colors. I was planning on getting Italian and pearl. BUT, did a little reading on the German pastel collection and after my aviary(10x9) is finished I’ll have plenty of space for some extras. Do y’all think I should just stick with getting these 2 colors or buy a 60ct of germans and breed untill I get an Italian. Is there a chance these colors won’t show?

Hum ... here in Germany there are no "german pastell".

As far as I read the specs on MyShire and KC quail farm it seems that there are several color crossings with roux, silver, cinnamon, fees and maybe more.

For a colorful flock great, but unpreadicable to reproduce.
Just like an "Überraschungs-Ei" (a sweety here in Germany - a chocolate egg with a surprise gadjet inside for kids).

But, there is the posibility for real unique colorations.

Interesting, makes it a even harder choice.
