Welcome to BYC! That said though, this thread is 10 years old and OP hasn’t been on in 9. Also I am sure the dog is long dead now.

We used the remove method. Everything the dog would try to go after the chicken we would put him back in the home. Since he really likes to be outside with us it was motivation enough to keep away from chickens. It took awhile though. He's got a high prey drive. But I think he got the point, just have to be consistent with training.
