Germantown Wisconsin?

@KellyBird are you and your neighbors in some type of subdivision? Do you know how it's zoned? Probably residential but double-check in case it's still zoned farm land. We have a case here up here where someone was getting flak from law enforcement, only to find out later that they could have 100 chickens if they wanted.

It sounds to me like you and your neighbors need to get together and go visit one of the council meetings. Get your ducks in a row so to speak about what types of coops you'd all have and where on your property they would be, (a good distance from the neighbors), cleaning and care promises, etc. Find pictures of some pretty coops similar to what you'll build, so they know chicken coops don't have to be an eyesore.

See if you can get a copy of the minutes of that meeting where they voted it down so you can see what the nay-sayers said.

If you can find other areas nearby that DO allow chickens, getting some testimonials from neighbors there would help.

It makes no sense when you all own a sizable lot, why you can't have a few chickens.

If you go once and get ignored, keep going to every one they hold. Don't relent. They'll put that back on their agenda and vote again most likely.
