Amen!

I am the lazy one..(well not really but yeah kinda)...

my dh works 3rd shift, 77 hrs in one wk...the next wk he's off...
well the wk he works...I'm a single parent and will take care of EVERYTHING - house, kids, animals etc...
I am a night owl..despise mornings..I'll be up til 1-2 am..I sleep til like 9-10 am on the wks he's home.

.the wks he is working; I'm up at 650 getting small kids ready for school; come home and crash til he gets home in the a/m about 930..then my day of running the biz,
homeschooling etc starts...

when he's home..he goes to sleep on the couch while TRYING to spend time w/me by 10..sometimes 9 lol..he gets up at 6..he doesnt HAVE to get up at 6..he can get up at 650 and kids
are still happy...but he does..sometimes he wakes earlier than that just not being able to sleep...

its give/take...I give the wks he is working and I take the wks he's home...and the wk he works..he sleeps from about 10 to 11 am to 8-845..which for me is a take for him..he doesnt NEED
all that sleep..and its an I give to let him...when I'd really like to spend time w/him...

well; neither one of us take scores on the animal feeding etc...maybe due to us not having a large place..and a ton of animals?? or that they are still in the brooder???

@ the post above^^

Yep...I "wake up" in the evening... always have.

Oooo yea we have the oppisite problem in my house, I like to sleep and hubby is up bright and early

However with that said, if hubby wants me up for whatever reason I will drag my sleepy rear out of bed, it may take me 20-mins but I'll do it... I'm one of those freak-of-nature people who does better with less sleep, but if I get into 6-7hrs I have to sleep at leat 10-12 or I feel like absolute crud, it's very strange...

X2 That is me EXACTLY! I don't know why, but I never feel as "alive" in the morning as I do in the evening.

I actually saw a documentary about this. It basically said that we all have an internal clock. Most people have an internal clock set to work from dawn to dark. A few of us have clocks that are "off". It said that while it is possible to shift your clock most of us will revert back to what our bodies want to do if you don't strictly enforce the new schedule. It also tends to be genetic. For most of my life my father has been in bed by 10pm and up by 6am. He was disgustingly cheerful in the mornings, singing and generally irritating the rest of us.

Mom desperately tried to keep to a normal schedule, but it was a struggle. Now that they have retired, Mom has decided to leave her internal clock alone. She sleeps most of the day and stays up all night long. She is as happy as can be and feels much better. Interestingly enough, Dad has now shifted later in the day (due to some medicine he is on). It is a little freaky that my parents stay up later than I do!

All of that to say, the sleeping thing may just be what it is. The sharing of chores needs to be worked on before you get too resentful to be able to communicate clearly. Good luck. I know it has to be frustrating.

I get up at 6:00 every morning with one of my sisters, my 2 older sisters are really not morning people, they get up at 7:30 and are asleep on their feet, and on weekends sleep to 10:00 or 11:00 (I get up at 7:00 on weekends) I get very frustrated at them sometimes for sleeping while I am making breakfast and doing laundry etc. but they stay up late doing laundry and cleaning up so I guess it evens out.

Everyone is different, some people are exhausted on 7 hours sleep and other are fine with 4!
