Getting 5 ducklings next month!!

Hello everyone- so I am new to the duckling world ... but I will be getting 5 little ones next month - been doing a lot of research and reading - I have a question about the duck run...so I am having a duck house with attached run built - both have a solid roof with shingles ; I had the idea of adding and run with just hardware cloth so that they would not always be under a solid roof - I was told to not worry about that - to keep it all under a solid roof .. what do you think ?

If you are never going to let them out of the run, it might be a good idea to have an area they can go to to be in the sun or rain if that is what they want.

That's Bella. I only adopt. I've had her just over 6 months. She'll be 5 in August.
