I am trying to get a good start on raising chicks.I bought an Amish 4x6 coop, cleared an area of land that was 100 ft from house(as required),buying a dog kennel for a run which i will cover with hardware cloth(lots of predetors on my property) the peeps will come this Spring. I have been reading BYC and am using all advice i can.I still have questions tho.I am 73 and have always wanted chicks but live in berbs and significant other also said no.I guess i am old enough now:lol:

from NY! Good start! I love those Amish coops-they're beautiful and sooo well built. Just a thought, but you might want to hit up the library and check out some books on chicken keeping. You've got a lot of time until spring, it'll keep you occupied and thinking of chickies!! lol
