What can I keep them in? I'll have two. What should I feed them? When can I let them into the plastic swimming pool we're getting them? SHould I get Peking or Mallard? Will they migrate and leave me?

What can I keep them in?

Plastic storage tubs work well. Keeps in the wetness and is easy to clean/hose out. Ducks are messy~!

What should I feed them?

Duck starter or game starter

When can I let them into the plastic swimming pool

At a couple of weeks old, they can have some 'swim' outings. Make them short at first and always be sure to provide them a way to get OUT of the water or they can become waterlogged and drown. (I put a couple of large flat rocks in the pool.)

Should I get Pekin or Mallard? Will they migrate and leave me?

Pekin are larger meat style ducks. The hens are very loud (and have a lot to say). Mallards are smaller and more colorful. I don't know if they will migrate, mine haven't, but I have a lot more ducks. They do fly VERY WELL.

If you are worried about them flying away, get a breed that can't fly...like a buff, a khaki, a runner or a welsh harlequin. Pekings can't fly either.
