Hi everyone. I am Jennifer from LA (lower Alabama) I grew up in the country and always had chickens. I ended up in the city post divorce. Now, seven years later, I am looking to bring chickens to my city home. But, only until I find my country home. I have a deep need to farm and garden. I currently have a great worm farm that does away with most of the garbage we create. So, my chickens will have great treats! Can anyone refer a chicken coop kit? I want to put one in my back yard ASAP.
thanks,
Jennifer Culp, RN

Hi :welcome Jennifer

Glad you could join the flock! How exciting for you to be getting back into keeping chickens :celebrate Do you have any breeds in mind? Have you dropped by the coop section? Lots of great ideas there on coops. Here is the link ~ https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/2/Coop_Designs

Wishing you the very best of luck in the future. Enjoy BYC and all the chicken chat :frow

Very nice to meet you Jennifer, Welcome to Backyard chickens. Generally kits and ready built models are not made to stand up to weather & wear. Also they tend to overstate how many chickens can fit comfortably inside. Maybe you could find a coop type you like in the coop sections and have some help you build it.

Welcome to BYC!
