Couldn't of said it better myself.

I now find all that theorizing and wrangling over the logic of, animals do/do not have a right not to be eaten, OK to eat a plant's product but not the whole plant, endlessly boring.

I would say Amen to that!

Hey, ticks! Ready to get bee stung? Hee, hee!

I killed it because i didnt want anyone getting hurt - as in them trying to kill it and taking off a toe. They didnt want it to roam their streets and I had no way to relocate it , they wanted it dead. I dont fear it.

If something has a mouth, that means it can bite. If something can bite, that means that it could potentially be harmful.

If anyone is against killing something beneficial, then you might as well turn vegan yourselves, because almost everything is beneficial in one way or another - people just set their own limits where they see fit, although often contridicting.

Maybe a bit of an overstatement, but I see the point. Based on a belief system.

My view: no belief is true.

My view: All beliefs are true to the people who believe them! Really, if you think about it, if you firmly believe that the sky is green, it is. No one can convince you that it's blue if you think it's green. So we may all believe fallacies, but they're true to us. I am often amazed at how stubborn us humans can be. I rival my mule sometimes.

And I think it's okay that you killed the snake. I would kill it if I was there. What does your friend do with the little black ants that creep into her kitchen, or the fly that finds a way inside? or a mouse?

Hello Deerman! Nice to see you posting again about snakes and how to take care of them.

And according to my view above, we're both right!

This is true, Amos. Though not venomous, any snake can bite and that bite can become infected.

Its the same as swatting a hornet or a fly. Its a creature, it has a life, its "harmless"....until you get stung or an animal's wound is amuck with maggots. People have their own reasons for eliminating a potential threat.

Can anyone send me two Kingsnakes out here? We got rat problem, I mean SEWER rats! Even the poison is doing their work but need a second backup in case they got wise about eating poison.

Heck we could not even get a garter snake to stay!

I would have let the snake be. But thats's just me. If it is no threat to me or mine, why kill it?

Of course if I were starving it might be a different story.

And I'm not saying anyone was right or wrong here, just what I do.
