Our chicks are 10(ish) weeks old and have been in the tractor every day for about two weeks now. At first I carry them out to the tractor two at a time first thing in the morning and we pretty much had to turn over the (PVC Hoop) tractor and picked them out or (sometimes) had to catch them in the evening. Now I just have to carry out one of the bossy ones and her LOUD crys of distress at being alone lure the rest out into to tractor. I also started to wait until it's nearly dark before bringing then in and now I just open the tractor door and they pretty much run to get indoors and on the roost for the night.
Another thing that helped was unintentional. The chicks stopped eating at night as soon as we took the light out of the brooder so they are all very hungry in the morning. It did not take them long to figure out that they would get a scoop of feed once they were in the tractor.
