Getting Chicks But What Kind To Get????????

They are cute! I have easter eggers as well, and all the hens I have raised from chicks are super sweet and follow me around everywhere! Good luck with your new chicks.

You have some beautiful chicks we have some aneraucana hens and barred rock hens. My kids took them both to the fair and got big ribbons on them. It looks like you will have some colorfull hens. Congratulations

I did a lot of reading before deciding which breeds to get. I wanted 'tough' chickens that could withstand heat/cold, and that were easy keepers. I tried to get breeds that were all close to the same size as adults, and that were good layers/dual purpose. I ended up ordering Barred Plymouth Rocks, White Leghorns, RIR's, Golden Laced Wyandottes, amd Speckled Sussex. These are my first chickens in over 20 years, so I hope I made the right choices! Well, if you insist....

These are my newest additions. The top chick is Margaret and the bottom is Chewy. They are both Americaunas! Hopefully I can post pictures of my babies that are set to hatch on Monday later this week!

That happens. IIt's usually a result of havibg the heat lamp on 24/7, they think it's always day, don't sleep enogh, and then sleep for hours on end.
