Getting chicks -

I am getting 4 Barred Rock chicks next month never had them before....need advice!!!! How do I start?

First things first read all you can and get your self prepared for what's to come. You'll need a brooder box, a cardboard box or plastic rubber maid tubs both work great. Then you'll need a heat lamp...start temps at 95 degrees for the first week and decrease that by 5 degrees each week after. Food containers and waterers and chick starter feed. Before doing anything please do your research and understand how to care for them before you even have them, BYC is a great place for all the info you need. Good luck! As a new chicken owner..the best piece of advice is to read...and read...and red..and read some more. There is so much out there...have fun!
