Getting Ducks Soon and Need Tips

Definitely watch the rooster.Make animals even from completely different species don’t get along.I had a rooster who grew up with a drake and that drake was like his big brother,the rooster would never challenge him,but he would challenge the other,bigger drake who he didn’t grow up with.They had their own personal beef,watch out with drakes and roosters.

My drake actually gives my bantam/game roo a wide birth it's actually hilarious since my Drake is a huge Muscovy and my roo well he's part bantam. lol Even my Muscovy females give my roo a wide space.

I am in the same situation. I will be getting ducks soon as they hatch!
I bought storey's guide as mentioned. It has a lot of valuable info. Some of the weekly focus threads on byc have been on ducks, I would look at those.
Have you decided what breed? I would decide that and then start my research there. Of course, if you are like me you will over research the breeds and keep going back and forth.

Thanks for the tips everyone! Unfortunately after researching and thinking it through more I realized that ducks would be too much and I wouldn't be able to give them what they need to be happy. So instead I got a puppy!

He's a yorkiepoo, named Poe. Almost 16 weeks now.
