Getting Goat kids

Wow can tough all the way around ... Electric fence is a gift to teach we had to add it I raised a bull he grew to walk through the fences to get to me did not have reducers back then ....
made him cry like a girl he wanted to get me so bad I took a sleeping bag out there for a a month

We've successfully done big dairy breeds. We only did a couple of the smaller ones. It worked the same. I recommend reading up on it. We are no experts on it, but we have done it successfully. If you go to a vet they will sedate and saw them off I believe.
Yeah, my Vet said she scoops them out. Pretty big deal...pretty big money. I have four goats I’d like to do...that adds up pretttty quick! I’ll read up a lot on it! Thanks, I kind of thought I had to just live with the horns. Very cool!!

oh makes my stomach turn.....I haven't found my farmer legs yet for things like this. Although I was able to decide a chicken needed culled, but dh did the deed. I have a long way to go, but I really want to get there for the health of our herds/flocks.
Oh definitely having the ability to put down birds is a must. I definitely have learned..🙄

I’m learning. Some things are REALLY tough. We had to ‘cull’ some ducks this year...very hard. Just killed a pig...wayyyyyyy hard. I looked into the banding of the horns...I think were definitely going to do it. Not really anything to lose? From what we read, it’s safe. Worst case, you have to try again...or they get scurs. That’s not as bad as a horn in the eye, like two weeks ago..:(

My two kids have horns and as of today they don't use them. I have no plans on changing them unless I run into a problem.
Yeah, but, I’ve had my goats get stuck in our fence a few times...we had to change the fence...we put up wood on each side of the posts so they can’t get stuck. But, I was walking the baby today, and the mama was upset...she was getting her head kinda stuck. When they grow, especially a buck, they can be a hazard...I’m just saying because of what I’ve seen, and felt in my eye.
