Getting Goat kids

@oldhenlikesdogs ...my friends agree with you!! They told me how to wean because they thought it was important to me. But most of them let it happen naturally too!! Hallelujah!! First thing tomommorow..those moms get those kids back and my world can be happy again!! I couldnt stand today!! From now on...following mom nature....thanks for the tip!
Mom will already be weaning them herself anyways. By 8 weeks she will only let them nurse a few seconds at a time generally. If you are worried just hold them back another week or two before selling them.

So, Walter, the guy we’re selling, is really the only one who did ok with the weaning. I was in the barn for hours yesterday to calm the kids. 5 were piled on top of me, but he was munching hay, or laying down in the bedding. So, he really was ok. So, Chris doesn’t want to put the kids back until Walter is gone so it doesn’t screw him up for the new owners. I called them and told them he’s ready to go today!!!!! I think they are coming in a bit!! Thank heaven!! I hate to see him go, but I have been distancing myself since I knew I had to sell him. Now with this drama, and bawling....if him going is what it takes to get everyone back together...then, we’ll, I don’t want this to sound bad, but, he needs to go! You know..I did notice, the one mom, Stormy, who was always super mom...wasn’t nursing as nicely, and her kids were coming to Busty when I had her on the milk stand. That must’ve been why?? She was pushing them away?! Hmmm...

ok, as for the price of goat cheese. I’ll tell Chris that $14 sounds reasonable to you all. I don’t know if anyone in this hick town is going to buy this cheese? We go to see the lady tonight. I’m such a wimp. By the time we leave, I’ll probably be paying her to take our cheese!!

Naturally weaning. Ozzy weaned here and did fine. Leave them with Mommas is a better idea..

Soooo, Walter was picked up today. I thought the kids would go running to the moms and everyone would hug, kiss and romp and play....instead the moms butted the kids away!! They wouldn5 let the kids nurse!! Only two days and bammmm, theyre done. Well, the moms are happy to be with the kids, and visa Versace...so now I’m happy too. But, I really thought, the kids would nurse a bit and wean gradually. Nope! Oh well. But, I’m sure not doing it this way next time!! The guy who bought WaLter also bought my ducks. He and his son were telling me all about them. I felt really good, like I knew he was go8ng to a good place. They are going to send me updates. The guy even paid me $70 extra! $20 for redoing his horns..and $50 because he hung up on me last week when I didn’t ge5 the check in the mail and somebody else wanted to buy Walter. But, I let it go right away...Chris has a short fuse, but then it’s over just like that...as soon as he vents, he’s done. Jus5 has to get it out. I’m like tha5 sometimes too. Anyways....the kids and all the moms are all in the barn. Coyotes are howling up a storm, but I couldn’t care less. They can’t ge5 in the mini pigs’ fence...chain link...chicken coop is like Fort Knox. They might be able to get in and tangle with my pot belly pi, but I’m pretty sure they’d regret it!! :lau :love
