Getting Goat kids

Pics
Thank goodness...:fl
I hope your right Lisa..:hugs
I want her to be treated as a baby as long as I can..:fl
I want to pick the Buck she mates with her first time..:old
I bred my goats I think 10 years ago was the last time, so my memory of it is a bit rusted. I know I always kept a buck with mine, and I don't recall many young does being bred. I think they are too young their first season, and the minis are seasonal breeders.

My friend Susan said the tiny goats cycle as young as 5 months so why I'm concerned and not getting proper replies from my Pal is confusing too. Told Fancy looks older than a May baby really worried me. :idunno

Now that I'm thinking about it, most of mine were born in January so by fall they were old enough to be bred. Generally by 8 months they are nature enough and will kid after a year of age. Just keep an eye on her. You got her in October? You got until March. :)
:th...:sick...:idunno...I hope she isn't because all summer I had plans for her and Ozzy to go hiking. :hmm

They can. Geez you broke the cobwebs out of that part of my brain and now stuff is coming back to me.

If the guy is running bucks with his doe year round most will get bred in August to October. I would get kids in January and February. That would make Fancy closer to the 6 months plus age.

Fancy if I'm correct is 9 months according to horn growth. And the slip my Pals girlfriend made about being born in March and bought her in May..
