Getting Goat kids

Oh geez, sounds like me and all of my ducks living in harmony!! :lau I think you can figure something out...goats are verrrry strong willed and a lot of people have this same issue. there just has to be some way to contain her! What if you contact your goat guru ask just ask him for some tips?
I already have asked him. Basically the same response. Keep trying and get the fence built way higher..😳👍🤠

Shannon don't you have a piece of electric netting your chickens? You could try using that.
Well that is old and isn't in the best of shape anymore after Finn was tangled in it and deer too. I never used it electric though. It basically just contains the chickens to that area.

Goats are trouble. That's a fact. You need to accept that to keep goats whether it's 2 or 20. I can nearly guarantee that your goats will continue to test your patience, and their enclosure. That's what goats do. I'm not being negative, it's just the nature of the critter. They are smart, and like monkeys. Always testing stuff and always putting stuff in their mouths. They also like to rough house and bash each other about.

So decide if you can deal with that. More goats means they will need to figure out the pecking order. Eventually they will bond as a herd. Goats can make good pets, but in the end they are livestock and need to be treated as such. That's just me opinion though. :)

Gotta decide whether you really enjoy goats or not. They certainly aren't for everyone. Every goat is different. Some make more troubles than others. Most eventually settle down and into routine once you get it figured out. A happy goat is a good goat, usually. ;)

Definitely livestock first. Just like my horses. I definitely don't spoil my horses. They know there place with me. I'm tops!
I just think I'm better off only having the two goats. They behave towards me and are content. It's just Fancy has a bond to me that's upsetting. I need the pen to confine her so she learns she is okay without me with her when outside of the kennel.

I hate to say this. But it sounds like you’re having second thoughts about keeping Fancy. But really want Tory. If that’s the case. It’s easier on you and her to do it sooner than later.very tough choice. I had to choose to sell Walter and keep Willy. But it was for the best

Heck NO! My kids are not going anywhere. Fancy is here for ever! She is my girl. Ozzy stays too..👍❤️
I'm just probably not getting Tori or Bo? I really need to think about it..My two stay and I will contain her if it's the last thing I do! :gig :barnie:lau

@chickens really if you ever have to treat for external parasites (lice) I strongly recommend ivermectin pour on for cattle. When I got my goats they had lice so after some research I decided on using ivermectin poured along the spine on the skin. I have not seen anything since. Great product! I did not notice any side effects.
Awesome. That's the same stuff my friend here used too. She left me a jar incase I ever need to use it. 👍

just trying to share what I have learned seeing how I am new to goats also. The individual said something that really stuck with me “I never baby my animals” to me I don’t consider basic care “babying”
Here is the information I used:
