*Getting kinda worried...*

Ok so I have 13 silkie eggs in the incubator and I candled them yesterday being day 4. I only candled two but the two I candled didn't look like much.

Is there anything I should look for. Don't worry I haven't opened the incubator since yesterday. It's day 5 today.

Once you gain some experience, you will learn to see things at 3 days. But until then, I agree 5-10 is better.

I candle white eggs at 3 days and see results, but I've been doing it for years. When I do candle I lay a small towel over a section of eggs and keep them warm while candling a group and then move on . I figure better safe than sorry and keep them from getting a chill.

Also,
9 times out of 10 a few will be infertile no matter what. We just set 10 quail and 8 are good.
Shipped eggs the # of fertile will go down.

Also,
opening the incubator isn't that bad a thing. Those of us who hand turn open it 3-5 times a day.

It's after they've pipped you shouldn't open it.

I wouldn't worry too much! My eggs I recieved I thought I had only 1 grower later on I found out I had quite a few more! Now I have to explain that to my DH lol
