Getting more and more excited!!!

Well it's week 15 for my red-sex links!!! I've been waiting sooo long for them to lay! I think I know what one is going to lay first! She has a hudge comb and wattles and they are bright red. When do you think they will start laying?

My Red sex link laid the first egg this morning .. she is OVER 20 weeks . I have been on pins and needles for over a month ! It has been really HOT here and they were on meds for a resperatory thing . I assume that is why she was "late" for her breed . It has been cooler the last week or so and that probably helped . Good luck on your egg ! It is egg-citig !

My Sexlinks are 16 weeks still have no eggs.

How do I know when they are going to lay? Like is there a sign?

I noticed she was in coop alot checking out the nests , also I looked at her vent . It was more open and wider that the other chickens. I have another red sex link whos comb and waddle are MUCH bigger and redder than the one that laid this morning .. her vent is still closed .So the comb is not a sure fire way of geussing at the first layer . OH ! another things she was sqauking a lot ... she did not sing the egg song till she was done laying but she did squack and carry on a bunch .
