Hey all! I'm quite excited- I ordered some Chocolate turkey eggs on Monday (and I have just been informed they arrived today!), set up the incubator to pre-heat this morning, and I'm getting ready to set the eggs tomorrow morning. My last try with turkey eggs, I set 6, got 5 to lockdown (1 was questionable, 4 looked good), 2 pipped, and only 1 actually hatched (and 4 days late, at that). This time, I'll be setting at least 8 (can't wait to get home and open the box!), so hopefully I'll end up with 3 or more little ones. Or, you know, 8 would be good too!
I've got a still-air Little Giant incubator all cranked up and ready- haven't had a chance to check the temp since I turned it on this morning, but I'm aiming for 102 at the top of the eggs. Humidity is at about 55%. I'm going to try to be a good observer and not pester them too much, but I'll post pictures as we go!
