Getting ready to incubate

I have a farm innovators forced air incubator I am test running before my first incubation. Incubator settings are in 0.5 degree increments. I have it set at 99.5 but it never goes over 99.5 and spends more time at 99 actually. I think I will up it to 100 before putting eggs in. What are your thoughts?

That's where I would start but there is no way I would trust that reading without verifying with a couple calibrated thermometers.

I have another thermometer in there and it also reads 90

Humidity is stable at 47

Brinsea makes pretty descent thermometers. What are you doing for your humidity reading?

Just have the built in meter for humidity

The controller reads 99.5 and the other thermometer reads 90?
I've been down this road. I've had as many as 6 thermometers only to discover they were all off - by a lot.

Make sure your thermometer is calibrated properly. Let it sit in there for a good amount of time and then adjust your thermostat so your getting a fairly steady 99.5 reading at egg level.
