Welcome to BYC! That sounds so exciting!
Here are some coop building tips. Now, I've heard these from other people, I haven't ever built a coop myself:
A solid floor prevents predators digging in. Mine is concrete and is easily cleaned but also holds in moisture and smell
Ventilation is very important, cover ventilation holes with small, sturdy wire (not chicken wire) so as to prevent rodents or weasels from slipping in
Natural light will promote laying, so during the warmer months you could have openings to let in light
Chicken wire does not keep predators out at all, don't use chicken wire on the outer parts of the coop
Nest boxes should have tall rims to prevent nesting material getting kicked out
Make sure the roof slants away from the opening so there aren't any puddles in front of the coop
I hope this helps!
