I'm planning on ordering 8 chicks (Golden Campine and Easter Eggers) from one hatchery and 25 chicks (Buff Brahma Bantams, Dark Brahmas and Quail Antwerp Belgiams) from another hatchery, scheduled for delivery on the same day in mid-April. I would then put them all together in the same large brooder to be raised together.

My question is, would this pose any health risks to any of the chicks? Them coming from two different places and then being put together? I don't know whether or not to be worried about infection or contamination and all that in that scenario.

Thanks for any help!

If they are going to live together eventually anyway, I don't see where there would be an issue in putting them together from the get-go. Congrats on your fuzzy butts!!

I put chicks from three different feed stores in the same brooder last year without any issues. I plan to do the same thing this year.
