Getting show birds white?

Have some bantam white Cochins that my kids are going to show for fair. Well, some of the foot and breast feathers are a bit stained and I need to know how to get them out? They were washed in woolite last night, but still have a way to go before they are super white.

I use a laundry pre-treater spray and let them sit for a few minutes while I'm getting their bath water ready. Once they're in, I scrub lightly with a veggie brush. Good luck, and I hope you do well at the show! Looking foreward to pics!

Thanks much...will try those...Liz...the pre-treat is a wonderful idea! BTW, my daughter is tossing around the idea of taking the hen she got from you since she has a better looking comb. I'll let you know if she places with her.
