We would like to raise a few turkeys for meat every year, particularly focusing on having them dressed out by Thanksgiving. I would like to know what breed will grow well from now (April) until November, producing the largest, tastiest bird possible. Male or female? What do I feed? What are their needs? Other do's and don'ts? HELP!!!!

whats best from know until then is broad breasted bronze or white turkeys. They are commercially grown and are genetically engineered to grow fast and die young, at about 12- 22 weeks is when they reach slaughter weight.it would be fine to use whole or cracked corn and greens as a deit.
