Hello all,
We've recently moved into the country and I have always wanted chickens. We placed an order last Friday with our local feed store for 50 barred rock hens and 3 barred rock roosters they are supposed to arrive April 12th. We've never kept chickens before, I'm sure we're taking on quite an endeavor with this many birds, but I think it will be fun. We have 2 girls in elementary school and I believe it will be a great experience for all of us! I'm just asking for any advice or suggestions of where to go from here. We have a 12X16 storage shed that will be the coop, and I am planning to have a run of approximately the same size. That's what I have and thank you all.
