Shipped eggs:

I hatched chicks from hatching eggs I purchased from Prissie Chicks Hatch date: 3/31/26


Then, two days ago, the internet and cellular went out, and this morning, around 7:45 a.m., our power went out for about 12 hours. The longest two days without communication I've ever had!

There were some shipped eggs hatching, around 10 mottleds from Cherry Blossom Bantams, and the rest were ours. Some are still in the incubator, so I don't have a positive count yet. A Jackery unit kept them running for the first six hours, then we swapped in our generator.

This is one brooder split in two for the time being. Here's the whole thing.

Need names?

No, thank you, as most will be sold. All of the ones on the right will be sold, in fact there are 15 less now. When I decide which ones on the left I'm keeping, then I will.

The four mottled and a couple of chocolates for sure I'm keeping, but not sure on the rest yet. I'll grow them out a bit first.

Thank you. We came through it fine with no casualties, but sure glad those don't happen often. Two hours is the longest one to date, so this set a record!
