Getting the flock out of here - a diary of a crazy chicken man

Ms. Amelia is chatting up a storm

Loves animals, calls them by name. Kitty, doggy, piggy. Comes crawling to me, going "mama, mama". Can you believe she's almost a year old? April 21.

In contrast, Thomas still calls them woof-woof and mew-mew.. Does say dadji (daddy). No mama unless he's mad (maaaa maaa maaa and crying)

Little girls are something.. Sure, everyone warns you, but you have NO idea until you experience it. She's got everyone around her pinky. Holds her own too, steals her brother's food when he's not looking

I may have to borrow that shotgun!

Mr. Pig, how is your little gal doing?

Oh obligatory baby girl pic

Ok, I gotta drop out of "lurkland" tell a story..........

My brother had the neatest "trick" he would do every time a kid would come over to pick up his daughter when she went out on a date (those high school days). The poor kid would arrive, knock on the door, then be invited in to wait for my brother's daughter to finish "dressing' for her date.
When he came inside, the whole entire house stunk (?stank?) of gun oil because my brother would be sitting in his big "daddy chair" cleaning his hunting rifle, or whatever firearm was handy at the time. THATS what the poor kid walked into.
My brother had more fun with that.............

My dad did something similar. He collects antique Japanese swords. He'd have several out for "cleaning" when the boy showed up the first time, LOL!

You all have such beautiful and intelligent children! :)

I shall have to remind you of these posts when they have reached their teenaged years. ;)

What eggs are you bringing with you to the Philipenes? Has Lillian left yet?

Legbars, Ameraucana, Marans will be transported.

Toni will be trouble when she is older. Thats a given. She has a free spirit and an air of defiance.

Lorenzo is very cautious and very much more likely to toe the line.

That being said, there is along road with many forks before they reach adulthood.

All we can do if give them as much information and grounding that we can offer and hope they make the right choices.

STORM WATCH

31 March 2015, Typhoon w/ International Name "MAYSAK" was located at 1,530 km East of Surigao City (10.2°N, 139.4°E). Maximum sustained winds of 205kph near the center and gustiness of up to 240kph. It is forecast to move West Northwest at 20kph

If traveling at 20 km per hour and 1500 KM from land, it looks like it will be just out of our way.

We can sure use the rain but I pity those in its direct path

if it stays on a WNW Paths, it will hit the Phils north of Manila. We are just south of its epicenter now (9.9N) and storms rarely dip south.

It still has a ling way to go and could intensify to super typhoon status

my favorite typhoon tracking app has been shut down
