A maiden doe had triplets overnight. I have been busy as one doeling is a little weak. she is getting fed from mamma and topped up with manna pro. my concern is the doe may not be able to produce enough milk though she is 50% nubian so it should work out.

baby goat is getting vit A&D, B complex injection as well as dextran iron.

the doe has a boy and 2 girls to end the all male curse. it stopped at 4 boys in a row.

If you were stateside I would tell you to feed her alfalfa. It increases the milk production. If that is not available try to find some kind of legume fodder to feed her. Soy bean would work if they haven't sprayed it with Roundup.

I'm coming out from the land of lurkdom to congratulate you on breaking the buckling streak!

Mama probably has enough milk for them right now as demand from newborns isn't very high. That's a good thing because it helps assure they all get a dose of colostrum. However, things might change quickly when the little guys start growing. Want a bottle baby? You could always pull the little buckling for bottle feeding if things get rough. Like PennyHen mentioned, alfalfa/legumes increase milk production so if available would be a good choice. If not - extra grain will help - just build her up slowly.

You'll probably find that, if hungry, the little ones will learn to eat feed a little more quickly than usual. I've had babies that started nibbling on grain at just a week old. I'll bet they'll be ok, it's rare for a baby to starve to death is there is any kind of food available and they've had colostrum. Now - if mama rejects one that's a whole different story.

I once bought a little buckling that was 'supposed' to be 6 weeks old. He wasn't. He was 3 weeks old and absolutely refused to take a bottle. That little fella went on to win his fair share of Grand Championships so he wasn't stunted at all!

well we scored another set of twins. Our last delivery with this batch, Both bucks LOL

HRM Chabichou is now the father of 10 babies (inc the still born and fella that died on day 3). 4 are doelings. Not that bad.

Mama goat rejected the doeling that was ill. She is now doing OK.

She is a bottle baby










We started milking one of the other mama goats that is now 10 days post partum with just one buckling. The guys have been just gettin milk from her as they need it. We will isolate her buckling once overnight once supply is not sufficient to get ad lib.

Goat season is over. We are now on "sow watch 2015"

Pig 1 is going to be a grand mother (if she was not turned into sausage after we sold her)

We have just the one pregnant. The second had a miscarriage at 8 weeks. She will be rebred next cycle.

The third in that group has one more chance to get pregnant. Her cycle is standing heat on monday so we have trouble getting semen ordered,

our other three gilts are ready to start breeding. If I was to give PG600 now, it would have them ready for breeding New Years Eve so we will hold off administration until sunday

The boys will start training our young boar next month
