Getting the flock out of here - a diary of a crazy chicken man

Dear SallySunshine,

Would you please stop posting pics of your birds? I have enough different breeds and do not need the temptation that those beauties cause. Your cooperation is appreciated.

Sincerely (well, sincerely tempted,)
Wisher1000

Dear Wisher1000,

Its a known fact that you cannot have too many breeds of fowl, nor can I deny the fact that the White Faced are magical and had you had a few you would sit for hours and observe them. They not only exude strength and beauty, they exude intelegence. The first time you see them standing proud in the bright morning sun you would be ever so grateful to have them in your life. Therefor I unfortunately cannot cooperate with this request, surely you understand.

Sincere Apologies, (well, sincerely Attempted)
Sally Sunshine

One day... one day I will be a crazy chicken lady too. For now I can only be a wannabe crazy chicken lady, with my mixed flock of girls. But one day, mark my word, I too will have multiple coops with breeds separated and I will be a honest crazy chicken lady.

I suggested in passing that maybe we should build an extra coop...my husband gave me a dirty look.

I suppose I should consider myself lucky that he caved and said I could buy the Brinsea. ;-)

Just start hatching

The sun and the planets may align.

That is the truth! I asked my hubby several months ago to build me a nice warm brooder in the garage. Well now due to the weather I have ohhhhh maybe 40 stinky chicks in my guest room, and when we have guests they come in our room. Guess what hubby and son are doing at this very moment....building me a brooder for the garage lol.

LOL! That's what I did last year when he told me no chickens until the coop was ready! I told him, "You'll have several weeks before they can go outside anyways, I'll just start hatching now!"

Well once we had a crowing rooster in the brood box in our living room...that chicken coop got finished awful quick!
