Getting the flock out of here - a diary of a crazy chicken man

Definately two boxes, but not sure with only four hens remaining how many we can do. I can try the upsidedown bag storage method.
I just did this with my CCL and they look great so far, will know by the end of the week, it def helps keep the air cell small but I am worried about malpositions because it states no turning when pointed end up and in the bag. Dont know unless we try, and if there is a few clinical studies on it stating it works, it should in fact work!

Will inform of this oz, maybe we can do more than two boxes LOL!! you need an assistant traveler to carry more golf bags my friend! hmmmm I need vacation
Could you explain this upside down bag storage method a little?

By the way... your new avatar is... interesting. Poor woman, I wonder if she realizes what has happened to her lovely smile. And those eyebrows! Did you make all that happen? Are you that kind of a whiz?

Banana ketchup? Actually, it is quite tolerable, and very similar to tomato ketchup. I tried quite a few different foods while I was with the ex stationed in GTMO Bay Cuba. Filipino foods, Cuban, Jamaican, and Dominican Republic foods!

tomato ketchup tastes nothing like tomatoes.

historically tomatoes were hard to come by so using bananas, vinegar, spices sugar and food coloring you get something similar to tomatoes vinegar spices sugar and food coloring

See, I never got the details of what it was! He just told me about stuff like banana ketchup and things like sweet spag. sauce.

My husband grew up in the same town as the guy, had mutual friends etc. He moved to the Phils (he's in Luzon) and married a local gal.. got some kids, the usual story. He always has these crazy stories... I like your stories better

Sorry to hear about all the hiccups, but it seems even with the hiccups there are still some good chicks coming out.

Sounds to me like you are doing great over there Oz especially considering how far away you are. You have a great group of people working with you and your vision is coming together.

Guess because I never trim wings I didn't think about it. I just let my birds be as natural as possible. I have netting for the run just haven't had the will to do it or never remember until after dark. Its one of those jobs that's not hard just taking 5 minutes to do is out of the way most times. My daughter and me will get it done before Monday. Just have to get the ladder from the barn and use my air stapler to tack it down good. It will cover all 3 runs that are there, side by side. 1 run still isn't set up as a run because that pen was holding babies last year and had no reason for them to have outdoor access while penned. 2 are rearing/breeding pens and have full access outside. After I do get it covered I plan on putting some pure BA in there to hatch some more. And maybe do a sex link batch or few this summer also.
I have 3 more buildings I can convert some or all of for coop space if I want. Just need some lumber. Which I can start on with egg sale $$$. And have a good portion of my garage I am allowed to turn into a hatchery/brooder room. Rather than using the basement 100% of the time. Just need find a 2nd fridge for selling/eating eggs because after 3 days our space in house is gone. But I figured that would happen. Miss the old 2nd had fridge we had that died on us. That was a freebie and looking for a 2nd hand 1 now.

Weather needs to straighten up around here though. Saturday was 82 and literally freezing tonight. Last night we got snow. That was after me and daughter collect 10 dz or so night crawlers for fishing later. Which is another venture I may get into locally since they are $2+ a dz at any store. Last year I got 50 dz in 2 nights by myself, we used a lot, until a hen got in the box and cleaned em out. At least SHE ate good of them.
