I have lots of bbs orps. A great blue and two black roos as well as all three variants in the hens

Just had a thought, with no experience in incubator building. Would it be an idea to connect that heating element to a CPU heat-sink and fan? I'm thinking placing that in the middle would spread the heat quite nicely, and you can probably find those somewhere practically for free if you don't have an old useless desktop computer sitting in the garage. Put that inside an old cooler and... oh crap I'm going to be building my own incubator soon aren't I?

Also started googling dual use car refrigerators, has anyone tried using those as an incubator? They seem to be quite cheap, the thermostat might be a bit dodgy though, don't know if you could reach the needed precision. This smells a bit like a challenge for Oz. He could have an incubator in the car when he does his egg runs. Drive coast to coast and hatch chicks.

Funny you should day that...

I had a modified styro bator with an stc 1000 digital thermostat transferring 21 viable day 9 eggs to Hfr place. To stabilize the eggs i put them in packing foam in the bator and used a inverter to ten the set up

I have been getting almost as many splash as i am blue

next season the plan is to have a pair of blue boys over my flock

i want to work on my lacing some more


the lower quality blues will go off to the swaps this Sun.

I only want to use the best in my breeding program

I did work as a security guard at one point, but never as a cop, so I find that a bit offensive

I'm just messing with you. But piglett might get confused if you call me pig, so maybe go with reindeer or something instead.
