Getting the flock out of here - a diary of a crazy chicken man

Its an exciting day in our little town in the Philipines. Municipal water arrives.

For us its much less of a deal than for most locals who share a hand pump like this (not my image)

they then carry water back to their tiny homes.

We currently use a shallow well and a 1HP pump. We have a bomba like the one in the picture for emergencies but it will be great not to have to think about water or having to scream for someone to refill the tank when we run out while I am all soaped up in the shower.

look how clean it is, not a pc of trash that I see, if that was even a small town here I would see trash in the pic! the boy is cute too!
And I know I am weird but that is one awesome pump!

Yes phase one is almost compleat I fly the 25th and decided to go with hatchery eggs this trip as it is only a two hour drive for hand pick up and all accompanying paperwork all in order so hopefully this will increase my success with this group of eggs avoiding the post . Keep up the inspiration

Y'all have no idea how happy I am to find out that some of the Cotournix are going to hatch. I had a bugger of a time on the first night. The temp spiked to killer heights. I was all resolved to get a new batch of eggs. but Bernie, the Filipino Poultry Phenom has managed to keep the bator at temp for another 16 days and chirping is a great sign. Lock down started 2 days ago. Official hatch day tomorrow. 86 eggs. lets keep our chicken toes crossed.
