Sounds like things are working out OK, Oz. Hatches are really improving. Love that Andulusian roo. We have a structure to rework to make a coop /nest boxes-the next step is getting something that we can use for the outside run. My hope is at least 10'x20' w/ a ht. of 6', but it may be something less than that. Materials are sure cheaper in the PI! I hope to be able to get some chickens after my trip to visit my sister later this month

some materials are cheaper.

using whats available locally is the key to an economical coop.

if i was building on US soil, I would be scouring craigslist and building site dumpsters

yup all MINE! delivered today!!

and I was teaching Alex how to drive it, except that she is too light!

she would get it started then put it in gear and it would shut off!
It has a kill switch so if the driver comes off the tractor it stops and they don't get rolled over. But it was so funny to watch the tractor guy scratch his head over it, and he said he's never seen that one before! LOL he said now he has a story to take back to the yard!
