Getting the flock out of here - a diary of a crazy chicken man

I somehow imagine Bernie's life to still include fowl, since he has so much experience in the raising of such animals.

Hope you are feeling better soon, I myself have taken to hugging my kids with long sticks "Dad loves you son, but keep your germs to yourself until after Dad's big race on the weekend" lol

Get well mate, thanks again for the happy snaps.

So true Vehve. Once upon a time I would work in an ER for extra shifts as a nurse and would get every bug the snot nosed kids would bring in. I became resistant to everything. No bug could effect me. Now days my sterile environment no longer affords me that environment.

Everyone has a cold. We started Dominic on antibiotics yesterday after he developed bacterial exudates.

I should be good by tomorrow. A solid nights sleep will do wonders.

We picked up 15 lengths of rebar for the coops' foundations on the way home. We should have the concrete work completed tomorrow.

We also have three stinky durians that I will make jam with tomorrow.

Tonight we dismissed Ging early and will just have spicy beef empanadas for dinner.

Tomorrow is a new day.

It's always the same when you take people from different places and jam them together. New teachers tend to be sick a lot during their first years, while the ones that have done it for years never get sick. When I did my military service, people from across the country were crammed together. The first weeks everyone had the flu.

A stint in a sauna would do wonders too, at least it makes you feel better.

My 2 1/2 year old has been a snot fountain since his brother went back to school.

It's 510am and I am feeling pretty groovy. We will postpone the trip to Ayongon to buy the goat and see Bernie et al. A day without driving had some appeal.

The carpenter starts in 45 minutes. Time to shake the cobb webs out of my head

Its a perfect morning on the lanai. I am almost back to full strength. The sun is shining but we have a nice breeze and the sound of small waves hitting the shore is very calming.

I just had my pedicure and Mrs Oz is getting a coconut cream scalp treatment.

Paradise for a day. Back to hard labor tomorrow.

We just ordered 1000 pieces of nipa thatch for the 1160 sq ft roof of the new coops.

Tomorrow we will drop by the market to order the woven bamboo matting for the walls to pick up on Tuesday along with more plywood.

Toni has a performance at school tomorrow, then swim class Saturday for the kids and Lorenzo's birthday Sunday. On Monday we have a parent teacher conference so it will be a long weekend in the city.

Next week we will be meeting with the Ag College regarding an intern on Tuesday then off to buy a buck and see Bernie on Wednesday.

Hopefully things will settle down after that.

My only meeting planned is with the Catholic diocese. Our workers have not baptized their kids because the church wanted $5 per kid fees. I am not the best catholic and am not a big fan of organized religion in general but while I would pay it for our guys in a heartbeat, its outrageous that the church is denying people who want to have their kids baptized the ability. I need to kick some pious butt.
