Getting the flock out of here - a diary of a crazy chicken man

the next typhoon, ruby, is on its way.

its still early to know it's exact path but one prediction is straight over us. its a category 4 super typhoon at the moment but a long way from land. the same predictors say it will weaken to a category two before its hits land east of us.

we are prepared for a windy Sunday.

That one looks frightening. They had it at a high cat 5 this morning and news said they were enforcing evacuation at Tacloban

we will be battening down the hatches tomorrow.

I am going to town to get a generator and 20 gallons of gas.

the guys will move off fence duty and board up the windows.

we have 60 liters of drinking water and 200 liters of bathing water. we also have a well.

today we stocked up on canned goods and rice.

we should be OK. the current charts have the eye passing 60-90 miles north of us

and I LOVE your user name

I love your name too.....it's so cute.

Oz.......I heard of a remedy for ants and tried it for those dang HUGE
roaches that will come in from the surrounding woods at different times
of the year. It seems to have worked for us so far. Maybe you could try
it out. Mix equal parts of powdered sugar and Borax laundry soap and
set out in small dishes where you have ants nearby. The sugar attracts
them and the Borax kills them but it isn't instant death.........they have time
to take some back to the nest and share with the colony.........worth a try.

Stay save through this storm and during clean up Oz..........keeping fingers crossed for all there.
