Getting the flock out of here - a diary of a crazy chicken man

I found a blue tooth dongle in my electronics stuff and installed new blue tooth software.

can now easily transfer photos to my laptop from my phone and vies-a-versa

As our chick numbers are rapidly approaching saturation of brooders, we will move the 12-16 weekers out of coops and put them in the grow out pen.

the 8-12 weekers can go into the protected coops

The guys had to make the grow out pens more dog proof.

the concrete structure is our non compostable trash "room" we will recycle steel and plastic but have to burn the rest.

this room should hold a decent fire

the piggery rafters have been filled with lumber, pipe and anglr bar

my inventory of hardware report includes pictures. nothing annoys me more than running out of nails and not be told before we run out

Bernie completing hatch records

30 lenths of bamboo at $1.90 a length to make bamboo lattice. it will replace the green mesh on coops as the sun decays it

for those of you that demanded pics...

I hope you are happier

Lillian planted seeds for 5 types of tomatoes, eggplant and super hot peppers yesterday.

yesterdays eggs

Bernie is adding pig style watering nipples to the goat pen. We have to pour out 10 gallons of water a day from the psuedo stock tank to prevent mosquitos from laying eggs

the tree protector fence squares are called pal-pals - or pal2. two sides are coconut leaves (paclags) two sides barbed wire

I can't bend like that either. The pain is fierce and I have to grab onto to something to stand back up. Not worth it. I'm starting to use those "reacher-grabber," things drug stores sell - anything that saves me from bending down is blessing.

outstanding job with the pictures OZ

after all they say a picture is worth 1000 words :)

got my 8/10 week old buffs all sexed & split up

the top level of my new 3 level brooder is up & running

i'll take some pics once i get it finished

it had been a 4 level brooder but i wasn't happy with it

we are now going 1/4" wire mesh instead of buying bag after bag of shavings

clean outs should be quick & easy
