Getting the flock out of here - a diary of a crazy chicken man

You don't look very happy.
I had just spent a long day on a bus with a sea of rice vomit running up and down the aisle, then a ferry, them a psycho minibus driver

We arrived and had a 2 mile 15% grade climb. I did nor want to get on that small horse but was railroaded.

He did fine and I got happier. That Welsh Mountain Pony stallion was not only carrying me, he was bucking and rooting everytime we got within 50 yards of a mare. It was comical.

You would be surprised at how strong those little guys are! I have a 32" mini that I saddle broke because my mom wanted my nephews to be able to ride him (they were babies at the time), so I'm 5'3" and about 130 pounds, I hopped on him and got him reasonably rideable at a walk and trot (not going to try to canter him, too tiny), if he turns too fast my toe touches the ground! I don't do it often, and I'm careful with him, but he holds me just fine.

i spent my share of hours with my bum in a saddle. Our horses lived on grazing and a rare biscuit of alfalfa.

I think horses are akin to boats when it comes to throwing money at them.

If we had the land and decent pasture, I would love my kids to have a horse but for now they love the goats. Maybe a goat cart is a compromise

I have got to see the blue prints and pictures of this when you have it completed. All hooked up with goat and the kids in it.

I have had an incredible run on doelings. If my girls give me some bucklings by mistake, i may turn a couple into "uncles" and see how we go.

It could be a fun project - a good way to haul coconuts that we harvest too.

I saw a cart on line for $500 that would be easy to replicate for about $60 in rae materials

Goat carts are pretty easy. One of the things I wanted to do with my land was build a small machine shop for building Prototypes of horse drawn vehicles.

Goats are strong for pulling but I wouldnt want too much weight on their backs pushing down or under their tummies pulling up. Balance for a two wheeled vehicle is essential.

A four wheeled vehicle and Game is ON. or even a three wheeled vehicle. Using a caster wheel in the front and two fixed wheels in the back.
