I have her daughter that will replace her. Her daughter (pig 17) is 220lbs at 150 days. She will be bred in around 8-10 weeks.The sire of 17 is a nucleus class boar. She will be inseminated with another boar of similar quality and the best of those gilts will be my multipliers to market breeding stock to locals at the per kilo price to make decent breeding stock available at a decent price. A long process to change pig dynamics in Southern negros

my best sow so far is pig 3. She is bred a hampshire/pietrains next and due mid may.

I kept 4 of her daughters.that are 95lbs at 12 weeks. They are sired by a great landrace boar and will join pig 17 in the quest for a good breeder sow line.

As she is my best girl, i will hang onto her for a few more breeding cycles.

On the goat front.

Our original buck Caprino, gave us 3 doelings. The girls are now 7-9 months of age and have been introduced to Chabichou. The offspring will be 44% Saanen, 25% Nubian 18% Boer and 13% local. based on lawa of avaerges, we are due to get all bucks but should we get does, we will be excited to try them as milkers.

Once Chabi has been with us for 2-3 seasons, I am going to offer him out as a stud buck to upgrade the local goats for around 4 dollars per doe. The saanen is the largest breed of dairy goat and should make good does to cross with boer bucks - of which I plan to get 1 for stud service to rent out at 4 dollars also. The meat goat industry is in its infancy here and by helping raise the quality of goats will increase the income of our neighbors.

current pig inventory:

Pig 1. - landrace - to be sold in 21 days
Pig 2 - Landrace - due May 8 - crossed to pietrains
Pig 3 - Landrace - due May 8 - crossed to hampshire/pietrains
Pig 4 - Mixed - due May 4 - crossed with large white/duroc
Pig 5 - mixed - due March 20 - crossed with pietrains/duroc

We have 3 farrowing pens and 5 12'x8' stalls as well as 4 small older pens.We have enough space to have 3 groups of 3 sows and 3 grower pens.I plan to cull heavily to end up with 6 sows to produce breeder gilts and 3 sows to produce boars



I am going to need half a doz good farrows before I would consider expanding. The pigs need to support themselves.
