So, we have this hen that we just got, and she's just about 1, an EE, and she has not laid for us yet..No biggie..But, today, she went into the box, sat for a while, rearranging the hay, and just snuggling up...She hopped out and I went over to check, and Nothing! Does that mean she's getting ready to lay?

Also, it was my understanding that she's already laying, but I also know the move can upset that..thanks

You'll get an egg soon, don't worry! I had a friend chickensit for us once and we went from 10 eggs a day to maybe 3/day. I figured that the girls got shy and just clenched up for awhile. I hope it's a blue egg for you!!

It happened to us too. Our hens ket disappearing under a bush every morning, a few days nothing turned up, then soon a nice little nest with their eggs inside. We were excited, didn't know what was going to happen or if they were going to lay... it comes when they're ready, I guess. Maybe they sit there as they get some kind of premonition they're going to start laying soon [IMG]
