3 weeks in and we have a clear leader and wingman (er, woman)—barred rock and Buff Orpington, we have a loner (the smallest bird currently, light Brahma. Boy will they be surprised when these girls outgrow the rest!), and um, a less intelligent one (who’s also the prettiest, an EE). I’m hoping our favorites don’t turn out to be Roos, but we will have to re-home a few since we got so many bonus chicks. I’m surprised that our Golden Comets haven’t shown too much interest in engaging yet. I ordered according to winter hardy and friendly traits, plus somewhat dependable laying tendencies. We shall see! I really just want to add onto our coop and keep our unplanned haul! Supposedly sized for 6-8 birds but we planned for 5 to avoid cramping.
