Hello everyone :)
New here, but not new to poultry!
I've had chickens for 6/7 years, and had ducks at one point.
About 6 weeks ago a fox had all my pekins, serama, oegb and layers. He left a very lucky broody hen and a 6 week old pullet who managed to squeeze under a rabbit hutch.
After 2 days of being on her own, I picked up 5 x 4 week old RIR. One past away and I've ended up with 3 cockerels and 1 pullet. Bad luck, but oh well!
My broody silkie x hatched 3 either shamo or aseel (mixed lot of eggs), and 2 cross breeds. Unfortunately I wasn't expecting rats to move in and lost 1 shamo and 1 of the cross breeds. These are 4 weeks old now and I think it's one of each for the shamo/aseel and i think the X is a pullet.
NOW FOR THE EXCITING PART!
Yesterday I picked up a trio of turkish (hint) aseel! Absolutely chuffed with them, very different to my pekins but I think they're great!

Sorry about your losses to the fox. Welcome to BYC. Be fully aware that the temperament of the Aseels will be far different from that of your lost birds.

I'm sorry for the loss of your birds. The new ones are very striking looking.

Thanks for joining us!

They were quite aggressive towards my rir which are nearly the same age, and they wouldn't stop chasing them so I let the broody hen out. They all had a go at her and (unsurprisingly) failed. This seems to have chilled them out abit and there hasn't been any serious scraps *touch wood*
They're only 12 weeks old so they should all settle nicely eventually. Can't wait until next spring to start hatching off them, and then for new breeding pens! :D
