The pintail that was at our lake a while back loved to eat cracked corn and birdseed with no problem. But, it may be different in a captive situation where it is stressed and scared.
 
Even better news--it turns out the man she's going to still has the male pintail I brought to him with a badly injured wing last year (the bird was also non-releasable). Meaning this pintail girl will have a mate!

She's going to meet her new mate and settle in to her new digs tomorrow afternoon.
