I work in the brewery part of a brewpup. The resteraunt part has a full bar, as well as the 11 beers we make, on tap. Anyway, we had a long time regular customer/friend die in a terrible vehicle accident several months ago. Since his death (and not before), the hot water at the glass washing sink comes on randomly. I had heard about this going on, but today, while I was cleaning the bar lines, the water came on full blast. We aren't open yet, and the boss is decorating for Valentine's day, so there were a couple other people in the room, but no one anywhere near the sink, which was 10 feet behind me. I said, out loud, "The freakin' water just came on!"

. My boss said, "Isn't that weird? It's Mike". The water in the mens' room has also been reported running (starts while someone is in the stall, but no one else in the restroom).
So, what do you think? Could it be a weird water pressure thing? Others have reported it coming on even after being sure to turn the faucet off tight.

Huh, weird. And by weird, I mean, "SCARY!!!" I probably would have screamed. But I have a phobia of ghosts.
I have no logiCal explanation, but I know next to nothing about plumbing.

sounds like you have some faulty valves on the faucets could just need some o-rings replaced....
my thought is when i die the last place your going to catch me is at work ...

Mike just isn't quite ready to move on yet. He's still hanging out in one of his favorite places. Our "ghost" possibly released during a renovation seems to have moved on after a many year visitation. He/she was mischievous.

That's what I was thinking. On the other hand, Mike didn't work here - this is where he hung out w/friends for hours at a time...Also, it had never happened before he passed.

The hot water could cause the o-rings or other parts to swell, while heated. once the cool down shrink to normal size allowing water to pass, especially if they are worn..

Sounds logical. Would it matter if the faucet was the lever type, as opposed to the knob type (this one's a lever)?

Obviously he is asking for one more draft for the road.
Poor him a nice mug and wish him well. He loved it there and wants to say good by.
try it.

Then call a plumber.
