Giant eggs every time?

How normal is it for a chicken to lay ultra-jumbo eggs almost every time? One of my Easter eggers lays ultra-jumbo eggs more than 50% of the time (2.75 ounces). She's about 6 months old and still getting a hang of the egg laying thing. They're always double yolked. I've seen other people post their huge eggs but... will this eventually even out into more normal sized eggs? Or is something abnormal going on here? She's not an extra large chicken and I wince in sympathy when I see these huge eggs.

New layers will be new layers. Much like a new driver, there will be accidents in the beginning. With new laying pullets, they often get egg laying glitches (soft shell, double yolks, blood on eggshells, speckles, small eggs, fairy eggs, etc.). The good thing is that most of these are happy little accidents that tend to go away with experience. I usually have to cut my pullets some slack. Plus, I tend to like speckles, darker egg pigments, and double yolkers anyway.

The large eggs don't bother me, I just feel bad for the chicken. They must be monsters to pass through. I hope it's not hurting her.

Jumping in on your knowledge! Similar to @fuzzyfarmer we have an EE with super erratic laying behavior. Sometimes she drops a shell-less egg while she's sleeping, sometimes she lays small but healthy eggs, and other times is HUGE double yolk eggs. Also 6 months old. At what age more or less should I expect it to normalize a bit? Thanks!!

One of my Leghorns did extra large, double yolk eggs for a while when she first started laying. Eventually she worked out the glitch and now lays normal sized eggs.
