Giant fragile egg

Been getting giant eggs from a single hen, they way in nearly 3.5 to 4 oz daily... their shells are nearly paper thin and 60% of time dont make it from coop to kitchen due to their fragile state... those that do the egg inside isn't much different than a standard xlarge egg... why would she be laying such giant egg and could it be a health issue with her? there is usually thinner spots in color almost as if you can see into it

Yes I do, in a grit station and in with the scratch... also the feed is layer feed with oyster shell

I got her from another who was moving so not sure the specifics of her or the rest... she only one is abnormal... I believe she is a red sex link

Red sex links lay prolifically for about two years then production slacks. They are prone to reproductive issues.

Not sure her age... she and 7 other hens were given to me becuase they were moving and I had space... they weren't forthcoming of age specifics got a general idea of a year to 3 years

I usually give out about 3-4 cups worth of scratch to the whole flock in their run at end of day when I collect
