meet at the barn at 7-7:30 AM on a Saturday morning? Oh me oh my LOL. Im not sure if I have the gumption to get up that early on a Saturday. LOL.

My chicken shed is not built yet like I had planned. Hubby workes endlessly and there is to much I cant do myself. So I dont have a place for any chickens yet. I could just get some to roam the yard like we used to do but then they poop everywhere and their babies get eaten by cats and we cant find their eggs.

But I want to bring my kids and check it out and price the foul I want to get at a later date. I'll be the tall lady with long brown hair and 2 young kids. Also I'll try to have a red American shirt on.

Heck while Im in the area I should go over to chain o lakes and do some morel mushroom hunting.

Sigh...I'd LOVE to come and meet you all, but I have pollworker training that morning and can't come. Any plans for the June swap?
Oh, I'm from Allen County. Fort Wayne doesn't allow people to keep chickens in the city limits. Hopefully with this year's election Fort Wayne will get some new leadership open to allowing people in the city to keep chickens!

Ok, it's been over for 4 hours, where is my review? LOL I couldn't make it daughter's softball games today, so feed my curiousity.

Well... there were lots of people there, selling & buying. I did not see some of the more unusual stuff I always look for-- maybe its too early yet.

Lots of young chicks, some adult breeders, some obvious culls, and basic barnyard fowl. There was geese, ducks, guineas, chickens, turkeys, pheasants, rabbits, pocket pets, large animals, dogs, cats, reptiles, etc. The exotic auction was also going on in Topeka, so I think that's where some of the sellers were.

My friends found some white-laced red bantam cornish, salmon favorelles, pigeons, etc. etc.

I got a cute lil red pyle OEGB hen, a large feeder, a tarp, and some cage cups.

Maybe next time?? There are others in the area, too!

I was there today. I did not get there until around 10:30am.

I was tryign to get an idea of how much the turkeys, chickens, peacocks and guineas cost since those are what I want. My chicken condo just isnt ready and wont be for awhile but I wanted to go to the swap meet anyways.

This morning I had the desire to just stay home because I was discouraged over not having a place yet for chickens.

But I had this strong compelling to go. I kept thinking there was a puppy there for me but my logic did not understand that because I knew we could not afford any pure breed dogs like they sell at swap meets. but I went anyways. I prayed that I would not get any animal I could not take care of and that I would not spend money on stuff I did not need.

When I got there I saw foul of all kinds along with other animals and flea market type venders. It was very interresting browsing but I kept looking for whatever it was I was feeling I needed to look for. We got to the end of the row we was walking in and there he was..............

a lone shivering brown 10 week old male FEIST-mountain-squirrel puppy dog for only $10. My eye caught him right away and I knew he was to be mine. The older couple selling him was so very nice. They gave us a free dog toy, coller and leesh. For 10 bucks that's a mega great deal!

The puppy has already been playing with my other 2 dogs, 4 wheeling and down to the creek for some fun, for a walk, and on a swing. I hope to go back to the next months swap meet. Lots of good stuff there.

Below me on 4 wheeler with dog I got today at swap meet.
