Gigantic eggs

So one of my hens has laid two of these gigantic eggs the last two days. It's either from my jersey giant or black sex link. Any idea what may cause this. They are literally 3x the size of all the other decent sized eggs

Are they new layers?
Could be a double or triple yolker...or even a shelled egg inside an egg.
Open 'em up ans see what's inside!

The fridge around the middle is call and shell check...a glitch in the shell gland.

All fairly common, especially with new layers but can happen with older hens too.
Many things can cause some funky eggs.

I cracked one open and it's just a regular egg.. Just huge. Getting one every day. It's so weird

They aren't new layers, but in their first year of laying

Were the yolks huge too?
Probably from BSL...tho not sure if Black Giants lay Giant eggs.
What and how exactly are you feeding?

Yolk seemed a bit larger than normal. I feed a local pellet feed that they love. I have 16 chickens and they get about 3lbs a day.

With this heat I'm only getting about 5 eggs a day and about half of them aren't even laying yet
